Happy New year to all.
I hope.. this yr will bring prosperity, luck and good health to everyone.
I am not celebrating
Chinese new yr this yr. Sad to say, my grandpa just passed away on
Fri, 23
th Jan in the morning. So I was busy at the wake for 2 days. We sent him off yesterday morning at
mandai crematorium. Well, I was my first visit there. Cos my paternal grandma and my aunt were both buried. I can't help feeling very fascinated by the technology and
facilities there,
accommodating to the needs of the public. Very clean, comfy and efficient.
Last Wednesday,21st Jan, I took my certification test. All was well for the test. I did my questions and my mentor, LV was in for day training. In fact, I was pretty touched that he did pop in during his short breaks to look through my papers and talk to me and all. well, i didn't say i love my mentor for nth. Lunched with Kim and Shiqi. team 1 and 2 on training.. so met some kind souls like Yusof( he tried to help mi print the procedures that I need), LiuWei, Shiqi.. with my console, kishor.. and my kor, Ashrin who gave mi .. "secret notes" with much encouragement.. And not forgetting Winston who pop in to offer me oranges and offerring to print P&IDs for me. for a moment, I feel that my company has really very warmth ppl! oh yar.. I did smt stupid actually, I actually locked my smart card in the room.. My bag pressed on to the keyboard too much times, and my smart card got blocked. meaning, I cant access to the company intranet.. so even if I can do any reference.. I cant!!! bleh! well, everyone had a gd laugh for that.
After work, my team went to
Sakuntala in little India for Dinner. I heeded there in Winston's car with
YiGui and
Shahul..We had
abt 50 bucks to spend per head. I pretty liked the food.. Well, I love spicy stuff..
YiGui, Barry and I were pretty
in love with the spicy
kangkong. Den.. My sis messaged me to say my grandpa
condition had turned for the worse.. Den after a while, my bro called to say ah gong was looking for me.
I excused myself.. but I
couldn't get any cab. Somehow, little India's cab seemed to be all HIRED! Barry and
ariffin came out to smoke and saw me still waiting for cab after 5
mins. In the end, Barry offered send me down. I felt bad cos he only ate a little of the food.
Hmph. My team sure have v nice people!
When I reached, he just held my hand.. the first thing he asked was.. if I had my dinner.. at that moment, I
alr started to tear. Why would a dying man asked
abt me first!
hmph! Then, asked me to work hard and
take care of mummy. That was the last time I heard him speak. After that, his condition remained like that for a day.. and passed away in
SGH on
Fri morning.
He passed away with cancer. His body condition was deteriorating, ever since
Dec. For people who know me well enough, I hadn't been a
gd grandchild. In fact, I
don't talk much to him. Shan't elaborate on that. But it hurts to see him in pain and I believe, death was a relief to him.
In my grandma..I saw the greatest virtue that mankind should possess.. Forgiveness. Sometimes, we get very blinded by small things that seemed 'important', that we fail to see the beauty of other things.
Whatever it is, in these days, I learnt to see a lot of things, did reflections and think about certain issues.
My condolences to my 2 friends as well.
Hweeteng.. for the demise of her grandpa. on the same date as my ah gong. and...
JoonChye.. for the demise of his grandma on 25th Jan..
